In A Sea Of Green

Late post. Photos taken on June 16, 2011 when La Salle celebrated its 100th year here in the Philippines. I know that we were supposed to wear centennial/green shirts but I wasn't able to get one for myself so yeah I just settled for this green army vest. I joked about not getting the memo to Ara, my Atenean friend, who came with me to the event. Haha! I guess it's safe to say that I need more green clothes in my closet. Haha!

I was looking forward to so many things that day actually and was super excited but alas my expectations and my heart were crushed when I wasn't able to meet my HS friends who were visiting. So yeah that kinda bummed me out a bit but all was forgotten when I heard the drum beats and the cheers from fellow Lasallians. I was standing across the uni when the cheering started. So try to imagine me playing patintero with the cars just so I can make it to the other side. Haha! I stayed only for a short while though 'coz Ara headed back to Ateneo to attend her Philo class and my college friends were nowhere in sight (hard looking for a familiar face in a crowded place). Bummer that I wasn't able to witness the fireworks! Oh well, I still enjoyed eating (at Pasta Plate and Noriter) non-stop that day before Ara and the others were allowed to enter the school (outsiders were allowed to go in at 3pm) and let me just say that I'm so proud that I was a part of my uni's centennial celeb even though I didn't stay for long. Those moments were just priceless.

PS. Thank you oh so very much for your comforting and encouraging comments on my previous post! I couldn't thank you guys enough for the support that you have shown me! I love you guys! :)

A Change of Scene

Akward length, yea? Makes me wonder if this is a midi or maxi dress. Hence I call it the "Midi-Maxi Dress".

I was quite elated when I saw these photos that were taken by my mom. Love how she just clicked away which resulted to paparazzi like-photos and how her steady hands handled my heavy lens. Hmm, I can finally stop paying my little sister to take my outfit shots MWA-HA-HA-HA!

Waking up to this breathtaking scene. Reminded me of the movie "Everybody's Fine" 'coz of the wires silhouette against the skyline. Sunrise in Laguna. Just lovely.

It was my college BFF's (Anna Banana!) 18th birthday and it required us to go to Laguna, where she lives. Because it was so far away from where I live (hello Quezon City!), I almost didn't make it to her party. But thank God to Meli (our block's google map and certified gala---I mean that in a good way babe!), I was able to arrive in Laguna (and come back home to MNL) safely. (Thanks for the comapany too!) I just wish Bryan, Russel, Guia and Rielle were there also to party with us and enjoy the stunning scene together! Anyway, it was a nice change of scene and Anna is now 18 (read that out loud and you'll find that it rhymes haha!).

Style Files: Karla Deras

Okay, so this is the first of its kind here on the blog where I devote a portion of it to my fave bloggers/style stars. First up in this segment called "Style Files" is my fave style blogger, Karla Deras of Karla's Closet. I'm perfectly aware that almost all fashion bloggers know Karla (unless you've been living under a rock) but she isn't well-known and looked up to by many for nothing. I have to say that aside from my mom, Karla Deras would have to be my style icon. Her style is fearless, sometimes androgynous and always classy. I love that she embraces femininity by wearing clothes that hug and accentuate the female body and that she is no moviestar/celebrity (just an ordinary girl who happens to have a blog and a lot of followers haha) but she dresses-up like one! It's like she's starring in her own movie that is her life. But I guess what I love the most about her style is that she isn't afraid to dress-up even if she's just off to get coffee at Starbucks in a tutu and sky-high heels. Truly, she is a celebrity in her own right. :)














Karla and her blog inspired me to come up with my own blog after reading hers (plus I was looking for a way to document my style/sartorial choices then) so I guess this is paying homage to her. Haha! I had such a hard time choosing which photos to put here so go check out Karla's blog yourself if you haven't yet! :)
