Little Girl

I have found myself a formula for easy dressing which balances both style and comfort. This "blouse-skirt-flats" style equation is perfect for when I commute from QC to Makati via tricycle out our village, FX to train station then MRT to Ayala. I have often found myself being sad when I can't wear the clothes that I want to be garbed in 'coz they can be too attention grabbing (it's either you get the sneer/stare or appraisal) which can end up compromising my safety. Thing is, I feel like I limit myself when I hold back with my sartorial choices and yet it can be terribly uncomfortable when I go all out with it. So how do I find that balance? This outfit, in my opinion, is an example of that balance. It's as simple as the tee and jeans combo but the little details give subtle intricacies to this look.

Feisty Feline

Everyone in my family including my boyfriend dressed up on the day we watched Breaking Dawn Part 2. My sister wore black and Mark arrived in my home in a black and red get-up which was so in theme for Twilight. I donned a grungy outfit that was somehow inspired by Bella and the whole feel of the movie. My shirt also has a cat print on it which can totally pass as a werewolf of the Quileute Tribe. Whut-whut! My mom had been so excited to see this movie that she reserved tickets earlier on and made this day a family date. Everyone was so cooperative by dressing up! As for the movie, well...we all liked it. I was pleasantly (and almost violently) surprised at the outcome of the film but it turned out really well, I must say.

Friday I'm In Love

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday I'm in love

My favorite day of the week. Then again who doesn't like Fridays? Usually, I can't be bothered to dress-up for school because I commute from Q.C. all the way to Taft and I don't wanna attract unnecessary attention that could put me in an uncomfortable situation. But I make an exception on Fridays. Why? It's my non-haggard school day 'coz I get to attend one class only and that's my literature elective (8:00am-9:30am). I also noticed that lately, I've been exerting extra effort to doll up 'coz in that class, (aside from the fact that I love my lit classes) I found a motivation a.k.a. crush who inspires me to get over my laziness in dressing-up for school. Haha! Plus, every Friday I fetch my mom at work and we go on dates and the woman doesn't like me going out not looking decent and pretty. Haha! So 2 weeks ago, we went on another date and she treated me to lunch and I had the yummiest salmon carbonara ever (too bad I didn't bring my cam!) then we met her officemates at UCC for dessert and coffee and while they were chit-chatting about taxes and parenting, I went to Lavish Lashes Studio to get eye-lash extensions. I love the result but the process of putting them on and the adhesive stung and my eyes were red for days I looked like I was on drugs. Haha! After that, my mom accompanied me to look for a dress that I'd wear on my friend's debut (will blog about it soon).

So yeah. This was my outfit 2 Fridays ago (though I wore tights underneath and took 'em off after class haha!). It's basically an outfit remix. But I don't really like wearing new clothes/shoes in school (baka masira due to flood and rain like my fave pair of floral oxfords huhu). I like saving 'em for dates with friends and events. Oh diba. Haha!

Grass Is Much Greener On The Other Side

(breton top-Tomato | culottes-Shop Capricious | satchel-Parisian | leopard turban-Flatterbuy | brogues-customized)like ink painting...
reminds me of a setting in a Jane Austen novel...
I was urging them to dance ballet with me. Well, I had fun doing it on my own. Hahaha!
Earlier today, I met up with my high school friends for a much-needed bonding sesh with them in UP. Though the weather was cloudy and rainy, it didn't stop us from having a grand time and a good laugh. The damp grass crunching beneath our feet, the rhythmic thudding of rain on the pavements, the gray cloudy sky and the chilly breeze were all very calming and soothing. Perfect for chasing our school-related anxieties (well for me anyway since classes have resumed for me already) away.

Ahh, I wish my uni had more green patches of grass! Clearly, the grass is much greener on the other side...literally. Haha!

Primary Colors

Last Friday, I was at Trinoma (yet again) to meet up with my high school friends! Terribly missed these girls 'coz the last time we went out was December last year! And just like the "Wear Your Tights Day" blog entry that I posted here, my HS barkada and I unintentionally dressed up with a theme which was "primary colors"! Only noticed it while I was editing the photos. Our outfits had blue and yellow in it while Debbie was wearing red! Haha I just think it's so cute that my friends and I are brain sistahs!
Finally got my hands on a copy of Room! I'd been eyeing this piece of lit since forever, not that it was pricey (it's only P315), but I just didn't want to shell out money for it 'coz my mom and I have this agreement that she's my financier for books. And since we were still not talking (we had a squabble), I had no choice but to buy it myself. Haha! (Masama pa loob eh noh?) I'm actually almost done reading it and sad to say, it's not as exciting as I thought it'd be. Oh well, at least I'm over obsessing about it and I can now move on to another book! Here I go again with my obsession on bookshopping. It's just like being addicted to shopping for clothes, once you shop, you can't stop (haha that rhymed)! Last night, I was browsing through goodreads.com and I was able to come up with a VERY long list of books to buy/read! Gaddemnit I need more moolah!

Overall, t'was a lovely day for a nice chat over cold frappes, shoe-shopping (Ara bought the sexiest nude pumps!), bookstore-hopping, and just laughing the day away with the my closest gal pals.

Pink, Girly Things, and Macarons

(lace blouse- Forever21 | shorts- The Second Shop | cameo necklace- Forever21 | shoes- Taiwan)
Late post is late. These photos were taken last weekend. Funny how the week went by with a theme hence this very girly post.

Photos:

*Sweet to look at and sweet to the taste French Macarons (they're not from Laduree though so I guess that doesn't make them French? Haha!). I love them, especially the pink ones (mainly 'coz of the irresistible pink hue and the cake ganache in between).
*My little sister dressed in a pink tutu! So adorable. :">
*My outfit last Saturday. (Forever21 lace blouse, The Second Shop shorts, Forever21 cameo necklace, Brogues from Taiwan)
*Newly acquired Etude House Pink Lippy! Such a steal. Its color is close to MAC's Pink Nouveau.

Hmm, I'm surprisingly not verbose (here on the blog) today.

Much Love,
Scarlet Aprilxx
