Something comfy and dainty for a busy day in Makati. Someone told me that I looked like I was going to jog or something in these clothes. Well, at least it would make for a chic quasi-sporty outfit. Then again maybe not. What do you think?

Mustard, Lace, and Leopard

The first Philippine Fashion Week Holiday show I watched this year was that of Jun Jun Cambe's. Memorable night not because of the show but because this was the first time I went alone coming from our home in QC to SMX. Woah, huge feat for me that one. Haha! If you must know, I am practically dependent on my whole family. So yeah, a cab ride alone and having a poor sense of direction were enough to make me sick the whole time I was on the road going to SMX. Hee. 


As for my outfit, my little sister called this the "big-sister-ang-yaman-mo-lang-tingnan" look. Hahaha! Lace, pearls and a good quality bag would help achieve this look, I guess. What do you think?

Golden Light

Operation "turn-the-photos-look-warm" successful! I took these quite early actually but they look like I took them during the magic hour (sunset) instead! Took advantage of the beautiful morning light streaming from the window then setting my white balance to shade or cloudy and voila! Instant sunset-y photos! This was my outfit btw when my friends and I went to the first ever Indie Fridays by Bloggers United at Il Ponticello in Makati. This look came together last minute and I couldn't be more grateful to these shorts for saving me from turning my closet inside out again in an attempt to find something decent to wear! Haha! I couldn't be bothered to plan my outfit ahead of time/the night before so when these cute lace-y shorts came in the mail that day I knew that I was gonna build my outfit around it. Don't you just love it when an outfit comes together unplanned and unintentionally? It's either you love what you come up with or have a what-was-i-thinking-moment. Exciting, yeah? Haha!

Blush

Here's what I wore to the very successful Bloggers United 2 event last Saturday at Treston International College. My grade school chum and fellow blogger Nicole and I helped out as program coordinators for the said event and since the task required a lot of moving, we chose to wear something sheer and flowy. This outfit was comfy and breezy I didn't get all sweaty and sticky even after the day ended. Fresh-freshan lang ang peg hihi. And this pair of JC Campbell-esque heels that I bought from F-stop wasn't hard to walk in at all. Although I did wear my cute pink flats after and in between breaks but it was quite a feat wearing 5-6 inch-heels the whole day without my feet getting blisters and bruises (or maybe tripping) for someone like me who wears ballets flats and brogues most of the time. That was a feat for my feet! (Sorry I just had to let that rhyme! Haha!) Anyway, I had a blast and I'm really glad I came this time. I got to meet other bloggers and a few readers as well plus I was able to help Aisa, Melai, and Ana that day even in my own simple little way. Gosh, they were all so busy you can't help but admire them for all their effort! Cheers! You make bloggers and readers happy not to mention your chosen charity! :)

Jealous Guy

And then it started to rain...

...so I grabbed my umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh.

This was my outfit last July 30 when Ma and I went to watch a fashion show at SM then had dinner at PCH with my high school chums right after. (I was crossing a footbridge at Convergys when I came across a group of call center agents and one of 'em remarked upon seeing me: "Ay bongga si Ate!". Felt shy after that. Haha! Anyway, it was a rainy week and was chilly enough that I finally got to wear this leather jacket that I bought a year ago. Been a while since I donned rocker chick clothes so it was definitely a refreshing change for me. I was feeling the rocker vibe as I was really into the style of Liz Gillies of Victorious (yes, the Nickelodeon teen show haha) that very same week. Look who's got a girl crush. Haha! But yeah, I love her. She's a very talented lassie and she deserves to be recognized together with her Victorious co-star Ariana Grande who also participated with her in the Broadway musical 13.

And here's Liz' cover of John Lennon's song "Jealous Guy"...hence the title. :) Yeah...I guess I'm an oldie when it comes to songs. I'm not really always "up to date" when it comes to that and my friend Anna can attest to that when she once borrowed my iPod and was pleasantly surprised to see my playlist. "Andaming lumang kanta", she said. Hahaha!

Now this one's just right. See how you can tell that my lipstick color is light orange and not really nude? Yep. All because of the lighting. Tyra Banks was right when she told her ANTM girls to "FIND THE LIGHT". Haha!

Summer is indeed in its full swing here in Manila, so much so that I can really feel the heat and the sun's rays prickling my skin whenever I go out which makes me more determined to stay in and do nothing that will make me work up a sweat! This week I managed to chug down 5 bottles of Coke (the big ones) and yes, I am perfectly aware that it's bad for my health but what can I do? The girl's thirsty. I hope I still have the drive to dress-up under this intense heat though. Okay okay enough with the complainin' (see I'm no beach babe and summer lover, I worship THE RAIN and THE COLD). I hate heat and the sun so much that I stayed at home all week long when the whole family went to Boracay last week (see, mi brotha just came home from Canada)! So where could a girl like me enjoy a nice swim? At a nice secluded falls or private pool maybe. But never when it's sunny. Night swimming, everyone?

On a slightly different note (imagine my voice getting an octave higher as I proceed to tell you to...), please grab a copy of the May 2011 issue of meg Magazine! En and I are featured on their Stylestalker section for this month! I am still so shaken from seeing myself on a magazine! I used to dream (well, I still do) of being the girl whose face was plastered on a glossy!!! SO FREAKIN' STOKED MAAAAAN LIKE ASDFGHJKL!!! Pardon my excitement, it's just that, it's my first print feature evaaaah so...yeah. =)) Special thanks to Zanti Jimenez! :)
