2011 Outfits :)

Here are just some of my favorite outfits that I came up with in 2011. I can definitely say that I've been a bit adventurous and fearless with my looks this year. And I'm really thankful for that. Of course this year wouldn't be complete without you guys who read and support this humble little style blog of mine. Thank you so much for caring to read what I have to say and post. You don't know how much this blog has come to mean to me in helping me overcome some of my insecurities and fears. And you my dear lovely readers have been so kind to me by being the best supporters ever. I love you, even though I may not know all of you personally. :)

Have a blessed new year everyone!

Blush

Here's what I wore to the very successful Bloggers United 2 event last Saturday at Treston International College. My grade school chum and fellow blogger Nicole and I helped out as program coordinators for the said event and since the task required a lot of moving, we chose to wear something sheer and flowy. This outfit was comfy and breezy I didn't get all sweaty and sticky even after the day ended. Fresh-freshan lang ang peg hihi. And this pair of JC Campbell-esque heels that I bought from F-stop wasn't hard to walk in at all. Although I did wear my cute pink flats after and in between breaks but it was quite a feat wearing 5-6 inch-heels the whole day without my feet getting blisters and bruises (or maybe tripping) for someone like me who wears ballets flats and brogues most of the time. That was a feat for my feet! (Sorry I just had to let that rhyme! Haha!) Anyway, I had a blast and I'm really glad I came this time. I got to meet other bloggers and a few readers as well plus I was able to help Aisa, Melai, and Ana that day even in my own simple little way. Gosh, they were all so busy you can't help but admire them for all their effort! Cheers! You make bloggers and readers happy not to mention your chosen charity! :)

P.S. More photos about BU2 on my next post!

Fine Day, Sunday

My, my...how am I going to start this post? Let's see...how about I begin with an explanation for the lack of activity here on the blog? Truth is, I have been feeling really down for a few months now. It was a sadness so strong and so deep it felt like I was being engulfed by it. Anyway, to cut the long story short, depression has overcome me and I'm trying to make myself feel better. Bit of a shocker, eh? I really tried not to talk about it here because I didn't want to publish emo-ish posts. But yeah. I am currently on leave and undergoing therapy. My family, especially my mom has been nothing but very supportive of me these past couple of days. They took me shopping (because retail therapy is the best therapy there is?) and today we went to Trinoma for a family bonding. We watched Breaking Dawn (and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I totally liked it), had lunch and went book-browsing. Good food, good company, good books. My ideal date. Plus, the mall with its bright, colorful Christmas decors was a sight to be seen that it instantly put me in a happier disposition. I'm glad I didn't hole up again inside the house. Today's the third time I went out and the first time I attempted to look decent (so as to feel a bit merry) after coming back from the province. Hey, I looked like crap the whole week so might as well clean up today right? I hope I don't look too awful in these pictures. I hope you're all having a much better week! :)

PS. To compensate for this sad post, I am going to bombard you with happy photos from today! :)

Pleated

This is what I call my "electric pleats on electric pleats" look. Haha. I got the top from my mom and the skirt was a thrift find at Quiapo. I got it real cheap for only 40 pesos (1$). It was a no-brainer, I just had to take it home! And it turned out to be one of my luckiest and greatest finds. I loved that it fell just below the knees and provided more coverage for my legs. In turn I felt more comfortable and confident sashaying down the streets and the mall that day. I also loved how it swished when I walked and how it fanned out when I twirled---made me feel a bit giddy inside. As for the top, it was actually tiered but I tucked the second layer inside so it would appear as if it were a cropped top and I think it looked better that way. The cinched waist silhouette, the midi skirt, the peter pan collar and tan brown accents just screamed "vintage girly" and I couldn't help but fantasize that I was on a picnic or was leisurely strolling down cobbled stone steps back in the 50's when I wore this outfit. So to complete my look, I carried a book instead of using a clutch. Haha! Sorry, I was playing out a fantasy here. It was a breezy, comfy and chic outfit---nothing too complicated as I was on vacation. :)

I hope you don't mind that I have two sets of photos here. My mom and I had a hard time finding the right location and lighting in order to come up with stellar pictures. Ah, the downside of indoor-shooting. *shakes head* As you can see, the ones that were taken on the staircase were much sharper and clearer. Yep, all because of the lighting. It's true when they said, that the light is your friend in photography. Just ask Tyra Banks. Remember how she keeps telling her girls (ANTM contestants) to "find the light"? And no, I'm not talking about that kind of "light"---the one that you see when you need to cross over to the "other side". Pft. Haha!
