Black Track

I used to say "I can't wait to be thirty and dress all fancy and powerful" when I was younger. I still do by the way. Then I realized, why wait to reach that age when I can do it now. That's what's so fun about fashion anyway; I can take on different personas through different styles. I never saw myself being mixed up in the corporate world as I always envisioned myself as a designer, briefly as part of the media and entertainment industry. Therefore I always thought that I wouldn't get as much chance to dress in stiff office wear. The one time I had an opportunity to do so, my office (which was situated in bustling Makati btw) wasn't too strict and formal with the dress code. To get a vivid image of what I am trying to convey here's an example of what I wore there. Now though, I'm much more game and open to dressing like this even though I'm not a celebrity, a rich man's wife, heiress, an entrepreneur, heck not even as a CEO of an imaginary company! I can pretend to be any of those in my head though, right? My elder sister and cousin both remarked how classy I looked in this outfit and how it reminded them of Kim Kardashian. At least I looked like one of the things I mentioned above and passed as a celebrity in this outfit. Do you see it too? Haha!

English Rose

I rarely wear jeans and t-shirts anymore. Last time I consistently did was in 3rd year high school when my usual get-up was comprised of a cool graphic shirt, good fitting denim and a pair of Chucks finished with long chained necklaces. When I do wear this no-fail combo now though, it's usually spruced up with not so ordinary accents like this flowery pumps, bowler hat, gold accessories and classy bag. Here's a similar outfit taken 2 years ago. And for some reason, outfits like these make me feel sexier and more womanly. I guess sometimes less is really more. But being someone who likes to dabble in various styles, I'd say it's better to mix it up sometimes and not be one note . :)

Whatever You Say Cruella

What I wore to Bea's 18th! Very Cruella Devil lang ang peg (only it's in Zebra print)! Don't you think that this hairy (or furry?) jacket that I got from F-stop is a perfect transitioning garment for Fall? Yeaaa, sucks that we don't have it---Fall, I mean---here in the Philly. But not having it didn't stop me from wearing this jacket. Hmm, I didn't exactly wear it, I just casually draped it on my shoulders as if it were a cape. I loved how different the outfit looked when I wore it as a jacket and when it just rested on my cold shoulders in a blasé manner. Amazing how a simple detail such as this can change (in a subtle way) an entire look. And this dress. It was originally my mom's and I just had it altered and turned into a tube dress. You can see here that it used to be a Sabrina-cut dress. Anyway, I noticed that I wear this shoes to parties too much when it's really the most uncomfortable pair I own. That's why whenever I wear this, I always end up barefoot or wearing flip-flops (but most of the time barefoot haha). *Sighs* I never learn! But on Bea's debut, I wore my friend's flip-flops and put it back on when I had to walk down the red-carpet for an impromptu fashion show---and I won an award btw. *Blushes* You are biased, my dear friend. Haha. :)

It's Wonderful Crazy, It's Beautiful Out of Control

Just some of my fave photos from Thursday night when our dear friend Bea celebrated her 18th at Bella Ibarra. It was almost like a reunion for us. My dear HAMMERS (that's the name of my HS Barkada---don't ask why haha) was there, some CTAC (Communication and Theater Arts Club) co-members were also present, and a few sophomore (section Maranao) classmates-friends were there as well. It was really great seeing them again. So much picture-taking, small chit-chats and hugs-and-beso happened. We had so much fun. Wait, fun is an understatement and not even the right term and adjective to describe the party. Crazy is right. Don't believe me yet? We were so hyper we were rapping Stupid Love and Super Bass in the hallway while Mel was taking a video---and I have that video stored in my computer and I'm actually contemplating whether to post it or not---(this was even before we sipped any alcohol) and when we finally hit the after-party where actual drinks were being served, well...let's just say things got a little bit out of hand. Okay, waaay out of hand. One of my friends was bestfriends with the floor that night! Apparently, she has this weird affection and fondness for floors that we had to literally drag and hoist her up while the rest of us kept nagging and mentally bitchslapping her hoping to bring her back to consciousness. Nakakaloka si ate, lahat ng type ng sahig hinigaan---mapa-semento, damuhan at dirt pa yan! Hahaha! I thought that stuff only happens in movies. "I've seen worse", said Tim. Clearly, I haven't been exposed to the world much. :))

While I am certainly not the type who likes partying, dancing and inhaling 2nd-hand smoke in posh clubs, I still enjoy going out every once in a while especially if I'm with my girls (and I do enjoy drinking cocktails haha sorry). As long as I'm with them, even the busiest and noisiest bar can still be fun for me. And that night was definitely one for the books! :)

*outfit post to follow!

Gray Leopard

(loose white polo- Simone's Closet| leggings- So! F.A.B | shoes and satchel-Parisian Jr.)
How was your week so far? Mine was great. One of the highlights of last week for me was when we had to bring in Filipino delicacies in school for a food tasting exercise in my wika at kultura class (Language and Culture). Our group brought some spicy Bicol Express while our rival group brought La Paz Batchoy and Suman but we still won! I was quite proud considering that I'm a Bicolana. Our food looked humble and simple (it was only made of sliced pork, coconut milk and chili, chili, chili!) right next to the "bonggang" la paz batchoy (so many ingredients were incorporated in it). Then we had to learn several dialects/words from different parts of the country and boy was it fun! My interest in Filipino mythical creatures (like the Tamawo/engkanto, sigbin--a very weird dog since its head's placed in its rear--and the aswang etc.) was piqued that a story is already forming in my head! I might just write it down one day! Haha! I mean, we Filipinos are so caught up with vampires (sad to say, but I'm guilty of that) that we fail to appreciate our very own folklore and mythical creatures which are just as interesting! Wouldn't it be cool to read a story about a Tamawo or an aswang who falls for a mortal and that could be the beginning of my not-so-original-star-crossed-lovers-story Pinoy version? So yeah, when my book comes out, hope you'll support it. Hahaha! I can't even begin to tell you how busy it got for all of us considering the fact that the school runs in a trimestral system. One day it was just the start of midterms and now we are approaching our last week for this term as it's already finals week for us! After this, hullo term break! :)

But I still like it better this way. :)

XO.
