Blue Crush

Look at me wearing two colors that I rarely wear/use. These, however, are Mark's chosen colors. I now can't help but associate these hues to his favorite NBA team the New York Knicks ever since he passionately introduced me to it. Consequently, this hotpants and shirt combo remind me of jersey uniforms---the shorter version worn by players circa the 1970s, that is.

Now these are things that I don't do often.
1. Wear blue and orange.
2. Graze on the topic of sports.
3. Incorporate anything sport-related to my fashion choices. Or just my life in general, really.

Everyone knows how lame I am when it comes to physical fitness. I have a weird phobia of balls and sports. In grade school, my P.E. instructors would just exempt me from participating in any form of vigorous exercises (starting grade 2 to 6). They just let me happily sit on the benches playing paperdolls or dominoes---safe from bouncing and rebounding balls! No kidding. The one time I was pushed out of my comfort zone was in high school when I had to play volleyball which was equivalent to an exam. I was so anxious I felt like I was gonna get myself sick thinking of the humiliation that would undoubtedly happen once I come in contact with the ball. I "served" once, and obviously the ball didn't even so much as touch the net. After seeing my lame attempt, they just let me sit down and watch on the sidelines again. *laughs*  Now you know why talking about sports on MY blog is kind of otherworldly for me.

What brought on all these, you ask? Well today I had to sit through the experience again in my P.E. class. But unexpectedly, I had a really fun day and it sorta extinguished my fear about the subject so I'm open to talking about it here on my blog now. Let's see what's in store for me this term! I'll keep you updated. :)

Full On Leopard

Here's another Christmas party outfit from me. Wore this to one of our family's Christmas luncheons on the 23rd of December. I had two outfit changes on this day actually just like the previous year when I wore this exact same shoes to the same family party. I wore it during the day which you can read all about here and then styled it differently at night. Guess this is my day to night pair! :)

Green Miss

Look at me blogging (almost) right on time! These photos were taken just yesterday during my niece's debut (7th birthday)! I've been attending A LOT of children's party lately. I guess you could say that these are my very own "blogger events". *laughs* Anyway, I was away from my QC home and was holed up in my Manila dorm for 2 weeks straight because I've been on the hunt for a job. I just went home this day because my big sister asked me to be the "official photographer" for the event. This, ladies and gents, was my 2nd comfy photographer outfit. Go ahead, click the link to see my 1st "I-am-a-photographer-look"! See, I like dressing up for these things. Big or small. It's like playing pretend! You know those games you play as a child like wanting to be a doctor when you grow up? Yup, well I was a legit photog in my mind here. Haha! Because my ensemble was leaning on the sexy side though (wattup body-constricting corset and mini!!!), I dressed it down by wearing comfy loafers instead of heels to make the look more youthful and playful. Good decision on my part too since I did a lot of walking and squatting around. Btw, excuse my photos with my sis-in-law's brother around! He was goofing off while me and my little sister were taking my outfit shots so I barely got decent shots without him there! Ah well.

Blue Me Away

You know how as children, we ladies tend to pretend like mommies around kids younger than us? We ultimately assume a commanding and responsible mom role if we're a few years older than them. Well, I got to play mommy the day these photos were taken because Mark invited me and my niece Mischa to his nephew's 1st birthday party. At first, I was secretly kilig with the idea of playing house with him (still so immature and playful at 20 haha), but I guess that was only natural for me to feel because I wanted to imagine what our life would be like together as a family. And maybe because I came from a broken family, I was curious to see how a man acts as a father/fatherly figure to a child. Mark was just splendid. Then again he's such a caring person so it came naturally for him. And as for me, I'm proud to report that I did a fairly good job looking after Mischa. Athough, I just slumped back in Mark's car totally spent and withdrawn from everything else after the party. This day just made me more appreciative of my mom and mothers in general but more importantly, I realized how harder it is for the young mothers out there. Suddenly, it's not just about you. The world and how you view it shifts. You are forced to grow up. The virtues and responsibilities of adulthood are shoved at you all too soon. You go from a narcissistic, self-centric teenager/young adult to a selfless, hardworking, and responsible woman.

Military and Flowers

Not the best angle for my fingers. They look like stumpy bananas (haha) but it's the only photo where you can see Lady Gaga perching perfectly on my pointy finger! :))

Late post is late. These photos were taken when En, Rej and I went to attend a fashion show in Greenbelt 3. This day was really something. Read on to know what happened that day that I find truly amusing and epic. Haha!

I woke up that day feeling unwell and not in the mood to go (plus I forgot to ask my mom for some moolah) so I felt like staying in and ditching. But I was being very indecisive that day so in the end I still accompanied En and her sister to Greenbelt. When we got there, we met up with Neil, Jonard, Joma and Lois (very fasssyooon bunch, I tell you) to wait up for Rachelle and watch the fashion show together. Unfortunately, the place was already packed with people so we weren't able to get seats and only stayed for a while. During the show we got to meet Ava of Artsyfartsyava and I was awestricken by her! She was sooo pretty and very friendly! I had to restrain myself from being such a fangirl. Haha! After a quick "hi-hello" and picture sesh with her, we bid her farewell and went mall-hopping to eat dinner at Trinoma. However, because I was already tired and hungry, not to mention parched from all the walking, photo-ops, and whatnot, when we were inside the train on our way to Tri, I suddenly had trouble breathing (claustrophobic si ate? Haha). (Now this is where things get exciting haha) The next moment I was already sweating bullets, hearing buzzing sounds in my ears and then the background sound of people talking was muffled (parang nasa Baguio lang hehe). In that moment all I could think about were my friends Meli and Anna (thanks for the warning you guys haha!) who once so casually told me about the symptoms and the feeling of fainting. Haha! I was giddy that I was at last about to experience it firsthand but at the same time I was also struggling to keep my balance and my consciousness! The moment I was certain that I was going to fall over, I closed my eyes, evened out my breathing and put all my weight on En's shoulder. My thought process at the time was:
"Am I going to faint?--Is this for real?--Yes it's for real!--Yey I now know the feeling of fainting!--Woops don't faint here honey!--Crap it's embarrassing I'm sweating like a pig!--Oh f*uck them I feel awful!--Close your eyes Jossa--Mind over matter--Mind over matter (repeat until you've convinced yourself you're not going to reel haha)..." At first, En wouldn't believe me when I told her that I'm about to faint but thank God, a woman noticed my pain (and my profuse sweating) and told Rej and En to put me under the A/C (What a scene right? Wapoise na kung wapoise). My God the cold air was like the salvation that I needed! When we got to the resto, my friends immediately asked for a glass of water from the waiter and as soon as the cold water came into contact with my parched throat, I was already feeling better and more energetic. Lesson of the day: Drink lot's o' H2o! Haha! Fun day I must say, though I never knew the importance of drinking plenty of fluids until that fateful day. Should've just listened to my mom. Truly, mothers know best. Preach. :))
