Green Miss

Look at me blogging (almost) right on time! These photos were taken just yesterday during my niece's debut (7th birthday)! I've been attending A LOT of children's party lately. I guess you could say that these are my very own "blogger events". *laughs* Anyway, I was away from my QC home and was holed up in my Manila dorm for 2 weeks straight because I've been on the hunt for a job. I just went home this day because my big sister asked me to be the "official photographer" for the event. This, ladies and gents, was my 2nd comfy photographer outfit. Go ahead, click the link to see my 1st "I-am-a-photographer-look"! See, I like dressing up for these things. Big or small. It's like playing pretend! You know those games you play as a child like wanting to be a doctor when you grow up? Yup, well I was a legit photog in my mind here. Haha! Because my ensemble was leaning on the sexy side though (wattup body-constricting corset and mini!!!), I dressed it down by wearing comfy loafers instead of heels to make the look more youthful and playful. Good decision on my part too since I did a lot of walking and squatting around. Btw, excuse my photos with my sis-in-law's brother around! He was goofing off while me and my little sister were taking my outfit shots so I barely got decent shots without him there! Ah well.

Blue Me Away

You know how as children, we ladies tend to pretend like mommies around kids younger than us? We ultimately assume a commanding and responsible mom role if we're a few years older than them. Well, I got to play mommy the day these photos were taken because Mark invited me and my niece Mischa to his nephew's 1st birthday party. At first, I was secretly kilig with the idea of playing house with him (still so immature and playful at 20 haha), but I guess that was only natural for me to feel because I wanted to imagine what our life would be like together as a family. And maybe because I came from a broken family, I was curious to see how a man acts as a father/fatherly figure to a child. Mark was just splendid. Then again he's such a caring person so it came naturally for him. And as for me, I'm proud to report that I did a fairly good job looking after Mischa. Athough, I just slumped back in Mark's car totally spent and withdrawn from everything else after the party. This day just made me more appreciative of my mom and mothers in general but more importantly, I realized how harder it is for the young mothers out there. Suddenly, it's not just about you. The world and how you view it shifts. You are forced to grow up. The virtues and responsibilities of adulthood are shoved at you all too soon. You go from a narcissistic, self-centric teenager/young adult to a selfless, hardworking, and responsible woman.

Cool As A Watermelon

Built my entire outfit around this watermelon tank top. I drew inspiration from said fruit hence the bright green linen blazer and black accents. Haha! Just thought it'd be cute to look like a watermelon on a hot sunny day. I also didn't get sticky and sweaty while wearing this 'coz the blazer was made of a soft wool/linen material and I easily took it off when the heat was sweltering. :)

Tan and Grey

Never thought tan and grey would look good together until this day. I was skeptical at first and was about to change my outfit before we headed out on our first day in Macau but when I slipped on my grey boots I thought it binded the whole look together. I guess my skepticism behind this combination stemmed from not being able to pair black with brown (just like with red and pink). But whatever, the tan served as a subtle pop of color in this otherwise monochromatic palette. Then again these two shades are neutrals so I guess they're bound to work out somehow. What do you think? Was is a hit or a miss? :)
