Neon Florals

While practically everyone was raving about spending their Labor Day weekend in Boracay, Mark and I were stuffing ourselves with different types of food in BF Paranaque and going around Alabang, hence we dubbed our "getaway" as LaborAlabang 2013. Haha! Will tell you all about it in an upcoming post. :)

Neon Dots

Just a few more days 'til Christmas and I still can't wear the sweaters that I hoarded because it's still so warm here in Manila. I mean, just look at my first post for December. It's the total opposite of warm pullovers, mugs of hot cocoa and wool socks. A summer type of post is what I have here instead. We welcomed the 1st of December by going to Pico de Loro for my little sister's birthday. It felt so much like summer, as seen on these photos. I am in no way a beach babe. I am the first one to hide under the cool shade of a beach umbrella. I am the least excited when my family plans for a beach trip. I can't swim to save my life. And I don't like wearing swimsuits. But if there's a thing or two that I like about it, it's the change of scenery and the relaxed vibe at the beach.

Now, about the outfit. As I mentioned earlier, I don't like wearing swimsuits. First, because I'm quite shy to bear more skin than the usual (conservative ang peg!). Second, I feel naked (HAHAHA). And lastly, I just think it's too revealing and intimate (like lingerie) to be worn outside. But that's just me. Do forgive me for my weirdness my dear readers. So for beach trips, I tend to wear maillots/one piece, swimsuit dresses, or bikini tops with high waist bottoms. Anything bra and knicker type, I scurry away from. Hahaha!

A Good Distraction

These past few weeks I learned that being stuck at home (doing papers all day long) won't keep you away from shopping (nyaha and you thought steering clear from malls would help you with that shopping ban eh?) and that retail therapy is always effective when you are down with a mild case of depression.

Being stuck at home with nothing but my papers to talk to (yes, I'm a sad kid like that) and with a lot of things on my mind lately, it's no wonder I'd been so depressed. And since my eyes were practically glued to the computer screen and my butt to my chair for weeks, I had all the time in the world to go online shopping. Behold, my latest acquisitions from the online shopping world (except the shoes, swimsuit and MAC brush set)! Haha! Oooh yeah, the perfect distraction from all my paperwork.
Orange pumps to brighten up a gloomy day, neon yellow leopard print swimwear that (somehow) reminds me of Katy Perry and black satchel all from the place of affordable yet stylish things that is SM Department Store (haha!). Chambray button down from F-STOP, boater hat from Trinkets Royale, turbans from Flatterbuy and 24 pcs. brush set from my good friend Meli. Friday night, my gals and I attended the Deals Dozen launching at Member's Only where I finally met stylish Neil & Jonard Palteng, Joma Bernardo and Ms. Joanna Ladrido. Lovely night though I could've enjoyed it better if I weren't too sleep deprived and tired 'coz of school or if Rachelle and I got a wee bit tipsy from the cocktails that we sipped, but alas mine tasted like Listerine or toothpaste dissolved in water while hers tasted like dirt. Haha! Guess we won't be ordering Manhattan and Sweet Martini next time and just settle for good 'ole Sex on the Beach instead. Haha! =))

That's it for now. 'Til the next post my lovelies!

Life in Technicolor II

The "point at your zit" pose. Haha!
Random shot. Haha! Sadako izzthatchu??? :))
Now this was when things started to get crazy. En and I were actually dancing (to the song Whip My Hair by Willow Smith) while these shots were being taken. I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH...I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH...like a lunatic. Haha!
Here's a "year ender" photo shoot for 'yall! These photos were taken yesterday with En to kill time while I was waiting for Ara and Deb to arrive at RnB (Cams was MIA...again). Another colorful post hence the title. And yes, I have already named a post with the similar title so to make a distinction I added the "II" this time (just like Coldplay's song). About the outfit, just in case you were wondering, I was wearing my neon printed bathing suit as a top/corset and my little sister's really tiny (not to mention very tight) tutu skirt. So yeah, this outfit was excruciating to wear but OH THE THINGS I'D DO FOR FASHION. Hahaha!

Happy Holidays everyone! Hope you're all having a blast! :)

'Til the next post then!

Life in Technicolor

Today's the last day of 5th term for me! I am officially on break and def back to blogging! Il dolce far niente! :)
I love this pic, it somehow reminds me of The Stylish Wanderer and it looks so vintage-y. Haha!
"Yesterday my life was duller...now everything's technicolor!"

(top-blacksheep | short-the second shop | shoes-parisian jr. | necklace-the ramp)
I dunno what to call this style as it looks like it can be rocker-ish, nerdy, or urban trendy. I guess I'll just call this...eclectic techno-pop rock "style"? Hahaha!

Suddenly felt very artsy and all hence the colorful orb thingies on the pictures. Haha! This must be an effect of getting my brain fried last night while I was struggling to finish my final paper in INTPRIN. I slept a 3:30 in the morning only to wake up at 5:30 to head out to school. I barely slept at all! Sabaw night/morning indeed. Last night was def one of those sleepless, kaloka nights where I couldn't form coherent paragraphs anymore and still continuing to pretend like I know what I was doing or saying in my paper. Hope to get a good mark though. Ok then, a passing grade will do! Hahaha!

On a different note, Char and Nina awarded me with this beautiful award! Do check out their site if you have the time. Thanks so much Char and Nina! :) I won't be able to tag anyone else right now as I badly need to hit the sack already...zzzzzZZZZZZZZ.

A million thanks to all of you for wishing me luck on finals week! They were very much appreciated!:*

*Colorful, colorful post. Reminds me of The Beatles' music vid of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. :))

Til the next post!

Candy Fair! :)

I wore: cropped/trapeze-like top (The Ramp), bodycon skirt (my friend's), black oxfords (customized), balck leather bag (gifted)
I chose to wear this colorful cropped/trapeze-like top because for me it represented the bubbly and fun personality of Candy magazine. Toned the colorful palette down and balanced the flowy and loose silhouette of the blouse by pairing it with a black bodycon skirt. :)

Since Cams still had class, we went to fetch her at UST. While waiting for her, me and En decided to take photos of our outfits for Chictopia. Hee.
*in slow motion**ang pagtatagpo* *slow sound plays* haha!

These girls (and their clothes) caught our attention! So cute! Next to them though, we looked underdressed. Haha!

Me and my friends had a blast yesterday when we went to Candy Fair '10. It was fun seeing a lot of cute lil girls and fashionistas at the event but we didn't stay long since we found the place really packed with people(haha!). Plus, I was pleasantly surprised, more like shocked actually, to find that the event was handled (I think) by my college organization (and I haven't been helpful to them in the last terms)! In fact, I'm probably on their "hunt list" for members who don't participate and show their faces to the org anymore. Haha! So yeah, that made it really awkward for me to "have fun" and "enjoy" when they were busily making things go right and me not helping out. Another weird coincidence happened when a co-member approached me to have my picture taken for candymag.com's Stylish Girls at the Candy Fair '10 and when I turned around to face her I stupidly blurted out "hey there! I'm from (name of org goes here) too! But I don't attend anymore...", just for the sake of saying something. Then realization struck me (and in my head I scolded myself for it) that I shouldn't have said anything at all because the lady didn't even recognize me, what with my curls, eyeliner and all, until I said those embarrassing things. Jesus! I felt like I was playing hide 'n seek the whole time I was there! HAHA!

I do wish I was active in my org, it was my dream org after all. But because I'm becoming such an anti-social, mingling with new people makes it so hard for me to actively participate in something. How ironic, considering I'm supposed to be outgoing and not socially awkward 'coz I'm a comm student.
And because Cams and I wanted to just go eat, we left the place early (we didn't even get the chance to look around that much and buy stuff), by heading out to Powerplant mall, then went to Trinoma after. What a day it was! :))

Much Love,
ScarletApril xx
