Pastels On My Birthday

So this was my birthday outfit on the 16th! Wore something warm since it was raining that day but I managed to stay cool by bearing my legs. As you can see, I was trying to evoke a "mature"/"womanly" charm on these photos since I just turned 20 after all by donning a casual-sophisticated outfit but still keeping the look youthful by choosing individual pieces that were still cute and young like matching purple bow ring and earrings, studded cuffs to balance out the serious-looking wristwatch, heart-printed jumper, pink bodycon skirt, denim polo instead of a crisp white button down and a colorful bag. Just because I said byebye to being a teen doesn't mean I have to grow up overnight, right? Plus, I wanted to wear something that was still "me".

So on my birthday I spent the first half of my day by listening to 90's music like Spice Girls songs, Lovefool by The Cardigans, Kiss Me, There She goes and Don't Dream It's Over by Sixpence None The Richer, Don't Speak by No Doubt, You Learn and Ironic by Alanis Morisette and even a little Aqua on the side just 'coz I felt like reminiscing and looking back on my childhood. Haha! And maaan, the songs back then were totally more meaningful than the music that we have today (with the exception of a few of course). So yeah, after getting a bit teary from the nostalgia that washed over me (Haha oh damn I guess I'm really getting older), I went to Trinoma to celebrate my 20th over a lovely intimate dinner with my high school besties at California Pizza Kitchen. We had the place all to ourselves so we were able to talk, laugh, eat and camwhore non-stop like we owned the place and that was when I realized that I was finally truly happy and content with my life as of the moment. And that realization was the best gift that I received on my birthday. :)

PS. Would you guys mind if I post some photos from my birthday dinner and some other random things on here?

Color My Life With The Chaos of Trouble

Once again, I got my scissors and cut cut cut my mom's vintage button-down without her knowing. I think it looks more interesting now. Tried a subtler version of the color blocking trend which is so HOT this SUMMER. Haha get it? HOT and...SUMMER. Okaaay, I'm so corny. HAHAHA! Sorry I can't help it, I'm just so happy that I'm officially on break! Le sigh...I feel much chipper and optimistic now that I'm done with this term. All those paperwork burned me out and left me uninspired I guess. So...back to the outfit. I'm wearing my mom's vintage beige/nude button-down which I DIY-ed, resurrected these neon pink skinny jeans that was in vogue back then (yes, I was gaga over colored jeans before oh c'mon admit it you bought it in every possible color too, right? HAHA), and finished the look with these bright orange pumps from SM. I'm also trying out the orange lipstick. I think it's perfect for summer. It just adds that beach-y, goddess-y glow to your complexion. :)
On a totes different note, I came across this photo of my mom when she was my age and I can't help but squeal with delight when I saw her wearing these immaculate white wide-leg jeans and carrying a super cool fold-able clutch! I've been wanting to add these two staples in my closet! Too bad she didn't keep these items.

After I got past noticing her outfit, I suddenly felt weird seeing her looking this young. Just so weird to know that my mom was once a teenager too. Haha! Anyhoo, I posted this on my FB and my friends kept on commenting that I look like her and that we have the same figure. (Really?!) So I showed the pic and my friends' comments to my mom and you know what she said? She said: "Yes I once had the same figure but you don't have...boobs". Uh-huh, those were the words of my mother. She smugly told me that and laughed at me. My jaw just dropped and I yelled at her for wounding my vanity. HAHAHA!

Oh mom. She is indeed very beautiful. Inside and out. I love her no matter what.

A Good Distraction

These past few weeks I learned that being stuck at home (doing papers all day long) won't keep you away from shopping (nyaha and you thought steering clear from malls would help you with that shopping ban eh?) and that retail therapy is always effective when you are down with a mild case of depression.

Being stuck at home with nothing but my papers to talk to (yes, I'm a sad kid like that) and with a lot of things on my mind lately, it's no wonder I'd been so depressed. And since my eyes were practically glued to the computer screen and my butt to my chair for weeks, I had all the time in the world to go online shopping. Behold, my latest acquisitions from the online shopping world (except the shoes, swimsuit and MAC brush set)! Haha! Oooh yeah, the perfect distraction from all my paperwork.
Orange pumps to brighten up a gloomy day, neon yellow leopard print swimwear that (somehow) reminds me of Katy Perry and black satchel all from the place of affordable yet stylish things that is SM Department Store (haha!). Chambray button down from F-STOP, boater hat from Trinkets Royale, turbans from Flatterbuy and 24 pcs. brush set from my good friend Meli. Friday night, my gals and I attended the Deals Dozen launching at Member's Only where I finally met stylish Neil & Jonard Palteng, Joma Bernardo and Ms. Joanna Ladrido. Lovely night though I could've enjoyed it better if I weren't too sleep deprived and tired 'coz of school or if Rachelle and I got a wee bit tipsy from the cocktails that we sipped, but alas mine tasted like Listerine or toothpaste dissolved in water while hers tasted like dirt. Haha! Guess we won't be ordering Manhattan and Sweet Martini next time and just settle for good 'ole Sex on the Beach instead. Haha! =))

That's it for now. 'Til the next post my lovelies!

Today Was A Fairy-tale

(cropped top-The Ramp | tutu-Just G | chain necklace-The Ramp | shoes)
My outfit from the weekend was inspired by fairies and vibrant hues! I was hell bent on finishing my sketches of Raiza's debut gowns that it somehow affected my sartorial choices that weekend. Or maybe it's just my shorter 'do. Ever since I chopped 5 inches off my hair, I've been inclined to wearing skirts and dresses more whenever the family and I would go out. Anyway, I don't mind. I like how my haircut brought out the color of my hair and it's bouncier when curled (which I try to do now whenever we go out). :)

PS. Hee, my exposed ears remind me of a fairy's pointed ears!:))
P.P.S. Hope Raiza will like my designs! Not too OTT since she's a simple lass. :)
