Something About Mary

It has been a while since I last donned an all cutesy-preppy outfit like this. It's all thanks to this polka top that I borrowed from my fave cousin, Mary---hence the title. This whole outfit post is to annoy her actually since I paired her blouse with my pink brogues which she has a complete aversion to. I remember telling her to give brogues/oxfords a chance but she rejected the idea entirely.

Anyway, wore this when the whole family watched the China National Acrobatic Circus last month. I wasn't really expecting much from the show but boy I was proven wrong! I was totally blown away by their stunts! By the end of the show, we bought one of those dumbbell-looking yoyos as seen on the 6th photo (which by the way, looks easy to play but until now we still don't know how it works haha!). I guess I was even more excited than the kids in the family. Lol.

Up, Up And Awaaay!

The 3 S': Scallops, stripes and swallows. And if you throw in the satchel there'd be 4. But you know, I just made that up. Haha! Who knew that putting all these elements together could make for a quirky, fun and cute ensemble? Perfect for the 17th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta helt at Clarkfield, Clarckzone, Pampanga last week! The event reminded me of Coachella---what with the tents, the people sitting idly on the grassy ground, food and souvenir vendors scattered all over the place and the laidback ambiance---that I decided to dress up like I was going to the event lang but of course I also incorporated a little bit of the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta into my outfit by wearing the colorful striped blouse. That way, people would mistake me for a balloon! Haha! The outfit was also a great pick me-upper since I was a lil bit miserable and couldn't enjoy the experience to the fullest 'coz I had the flu. It was so bad that I used up all the tissue that we brought and the skin on my nose was red and peeling. Eww not a pretty sight, I tell you. Haha! But that didn't stop me from enjoying the lil vacay so I'm really glad that we went.

Perouvian Wasteland (c/o Status Magazine)

Last Saturday a bunch of bloggers were invited by Status Magazine to a photo exhibit of photographer to the stars Perou held at the Ayala Museum then an after party at Robot Lounge and Resto. One word to sum up the experience: Amaaazeballs! Being a photo enthusiast myself, I truly and honestly enjoyed being in that museum and looking at his clean and sleek works. It inspired me to work on my photography skillzzz as well as think outside the box. One thing you'd notice about his photos is that they all have a sense of peculiarity (but that's a good thing and it works for him) and because I have this weird affinity for creepy, eerie and odd artworks (think Gothic, Dresden dolls, Coraline, Tim Burton-esque kind of weird and mind boggling films---the kind that makes you go what the f*ck??? etc.) the exhibit was truly a delightful visual feast for me.
