Perouvian Wasteland (c/o Status Magazine)

Last Saturday a bunch of bloggers were invited by Status Magazine to a photo exhibit of photographer to the stars Perou held at the Ayala Museum then an after party at Robot Lounge and Resto. One word to sum up the experience: Amaaazeballs! Being a photo enthusiast myself, I truly and honestly enjoyed being in that museum and looking at his clean and sleek works. It inspired me to work on my photography skillzzz as well as think outside the box. One thing you'd notice about his photos is that they all have a sense of peculiarity (but that's a good thing and it works for him) and because I have this weird affinity for creepy, eerie and odd artworks (think Gothic, Dresden dolls, Coraline, Tim Burton-esque kind of weird and mind boggling films---the kind that makes you go what the f*ck??? etc.) the exhibit was truly a delightful visual feast for me.

It's a date!

Tuesday was THE day my fave cousin visited me in school. We went on a little date after my class and here's what happened that day.
Cute fork eh? I had cheesy chicken with adobo rice for lunch with Meli at a Korean resto in Agno/Castro near school after my last class for the day. I don't really like tea and I thought the iced tea that came with our lunch was the regular Nestea/Lipton iced tea...well it wasn't. It was real tea. Ehh...I didn't like it. Okayrandom. Haha! After having lunch, I met with my cousin Mariel in school and we ate (yet again) at Pasta Plate 'coz she was craving for some churros.
Waited for my big sister to come pick us up so we could all go to MOA and window shop.
And here's a 'lil something that made me kilig! Saw myself on a Manels poster! :)
Found a nice orange wall as backdrop for my outfit post in MOA! I can't help thinking that my outfit for that day looked like a casual version of a man's suit (with a twist too!). My bow tie was made of studs, studded harems for slacks, cropped blazer with zipper trimmings on the lapels for a tux and white lace tank for a crisp white shirt! Hmm, Imma burst out singing about suuuits ala Barney now! Haha!
Finally had my froyo fix! My pick? Froyo with mango chunks, butterscotch and cheesecake! I like the taste of their froyo. Sweet and not too sour. My fave after Red Mango. :)

Watched 'lil girls in skates for awhile, then off we went to Trinoma to catch the last screening of Monte Carlo!
The story was okay, the clothes were pretty and Leighton, Selena, and Katie were all very lovely and perfect for their roles. I also loved that Leighton went au naturel in this film, she barely had any make-up on and her wavy beach tresses completed the look! But I guess, my fave character in this film wasn't Leighton (though I am a huge fan of hers!). I just thought Katie Cassidy was a breath of fresh air in this film! I adored her fake Texan accent (though it was missing in some parts of the movie), her playful banters with Leighton and her fun presence! I did like Selena as Cordelia though. She played her snotty British counterpart well that Mariel and I couldn't stop laughing at how bitchy she was as Cordelia the spoiled but fierce British heiress. Haha! After watching we wanted to don huge Jakie O-ish sunglasses and tinker with our phones like we're so freakin' bored as we imitate her and say in a low voice (in British accent too): "The key to my room. FASTER" and "My mother wants me to go to this charity thing". Hahaha!

It was a light chick flick and that's all there is to it really but that's not entirely a bad thing. Haha! It was the perfect movie to end a tiring but fun-filled day with my cousin.

Old Rose, Old Soul

(denim button-down-11th of October | floral dress-The Landmark | sandals-Babo | spike necklace-The Ramp | tan bag-Follow Your Heart)
Howdy folks! How's everybody doin'? Forgive me for the lack of updates here on my blog, see classes have already resumed for us and I've been quite busy preparing myself for school. This term, I have some really cool and exciting subjects namely: radio and video production classes (RADIPRO and VPRODUC) and I'm a bit anxious as to how I'll be able to pass these two. Last week was the start of my 6th term in school and so far I'm already liking a few subjects and my lighter class schedule.

Anyhoo, last Friday after attending my PUBLISH class, Meli dragged me with her to Quiapo for a quick fortune telling sesh. At first I was reluctant to go 'coz I really wanted to go home already and I knew that the place would be really crowded as it was the first Friday of the year and it was Quiapo day too but Meli was very persistent so I obliged. Who knew it'd be fun to get sandwiched by dozens of people and brave the intense Manila heat while looking for the manghuhula's stall? Haha! Meli's "hula" was pretty accurate while mine was...hmm, suspicious and far-fetched? Haha! The manghuhula's prediction included (much to my dismay) that I'd get married early (I was told of that already by another manghuhula so...FOR REALZ??? HAHA), I will be successful in my career, I will make it big abroad and stuff like that. I kinda expected her to say that but it was still very fun.

Oh and before I end this post, look at my new vintage finds (spot the oxymoron! Haha!)! I unearthed these inside my mom's old cabinet before the start of this term. There are more inside but I need the assistance of my ate if I'm going keep myself from shrieking every time I pull a piece out of the hanger 'coz a few cockroaches get pulled out of 'em too. Haha! I'm sooo giddy that I got my hands on these great finds! :)

Much love,
Scarlet Aprilxx
