A Posh Afternoon

Before I start this entry with the usual outfit post, here's a little video of our lovely and posh time at Posh Nails (SM Fairview)! Excuse the crap quality I swear it's not like that outside of my blog. Rough editing and very short though (I wasn't really going for a bongga video, just a teaser of sorts, yea). I guess I got too excited using the video in my 60D. Hehe.
Had a very relaxing and lovely time at Posh Nails yesterday! Hands and feet are often neglected when it comes to pampering so when this offer/invite from Melai of Style and Soul and Posh Nails came to my doorstep, I knew I just had to take it! Plus, it was very close to where I live (so no sweat!) and I was dying to get a proper mani-pedi for once! The experience reminded me of the pleasant afternoons spent getting massages, mani-pedis and sipping white mocha frappes with my grade school chums-slash-pampering buddies Camille and Nicole (who was there with me also) back in the...not-so old days. Ah, good times. But enough reminiscing, it's time for sharing! Posh Nails gave us a mani-pedi and I couldn't be happier with their selection of bright and happy polishes (I went for neon pink and orange!) and classic-sophisticated lacquers (En chose sexy Red and Barbie Pink!). They also used Lemon Scrub on our legs and arms and that was the best! The sensation of the grainy scrub on our skin was tingly, rough yet very relaxing. And the citrus scent was also a plus! The staff and everyone was just so accommodating and friendly (as seen on photos above), and the girly atmosphere and the very bright and playful interiors (I especially loved the cool black and white photos---so old hollywood glam!) made us feel like princesses. We truly had a great time!

***Again, thanks Melai and Posh Nails! :)

As for the outfits: Girly pampering session calls for feminine and whimsical outfits hence the tulle skirts! Haha! Swear we didn't plan to match! :)

(I do not own the song used in the video. Song title: If a Song Could Get Me You by Marit Larsen)

Tomas

Wow, this post is blogged right on time. Well, better to share it now that I'm actually in the mood to talk about my date with my high school girlfriends yesterday than wait 'til the weekend when my excitement for it has died down, right? Right.

On to the post then!

Yesterday, my CONCEPT class had a freecut ("research break", reasoned our prof) which allowed me to go home at 9:30 am (quite early eh?). Because of this early dismissal, I called for my cousin Mariel to come visit me in school and had lunch with her. After that, I met with Deb and Mel at Tomas Morato for our "Cravings date" (which was postponed waaay too many times already).
Had lunch with mi cousin at Half-time (boo, 'coz Flaming Wings was already packed with people)! Doesn't matter, I liked their chicken tempura. I swear when we first laid eyes on it, we were hesitant to try it. It's breading was white as snow (not even the flesh-colored tempura that we are all used to)! Haha! And just a 'lil fun something to share with you guys, that Iced tea right there (also from Half-time) is the main reason why I keep on coming back to that place. I'm not really a fan of juice but since it tastes like Sago Gulaman, it's got to be my fave Iced tea now! And yeah, I'm a sucker for sago gulaman. Haha! Okay sorry for rambling. After having lunch, we had unlicake (yes, you read that right!) or unlimited cake and coffee at Cravings with Mel and Deb! And then we just cam-whored the day away at the streets of Tomas which is very evident in the rest of the photos. Haha! It was a fun day and though I came home exhausted from everything that had transpired that day, I couldn't care less 'coz times like these make me feel extremely lucky for having these girls as my friends. :)

'Coz Halloween's The Perfect Time To Play Dress-ups

Hello guys! Before I start off this post, let me just greet y'all a Happy Halloween first! There. I'm actually feeling better now and today I have something really special to share with you all! Yesterday, I spent majority of my afternoon at En's place conducting a Halloween (mini) photo shoot. While I was practically achoo-ing almost every minute when I was sick with the flu and was fairly miserable, I was concocting a 'lil something-something for the blog. When I finally got better, I immediately called for this shoot!

On to my costume then!
I dressed up in the gothic lolita fashion of Kanon Wakeshima, a Japanese singer/cellist. I adore her so much because she's very talented (she sings, plays the cello, and draws pretty well!) and she has this sweet and spooky look going on for her all at the same time!So whatcha guys think? Since I didn't have any gothic lolita costumes on hand, I improvised by wearing my 4th year HS prom gown and tucked all the excess fabric inside my hot pants! HAHA! Then I just wore my white blouse underneath and pinned my black ribbon on the collar. :)
And because I don't play the cello, I figured I'd just use my violin instead. Here's my violin Scarlet making a cameo here on the blog! :)
En dressed up as Wednesday of Addam's Family. She looks creepy right? Haha!
And this is where they mistook me for the Mad Hatter. Probably 'coz of the tea party set-up and the red hat. :)
Here's En wearing my 'Lil sis' cute pink tutu skirt and playing the part of...Hmm, I dunno, Dita von Teese? :)
Well that was certainly fun! It feels so good to see the ideas that you have materialize right in front of you through the photos that you see. God, I love Fashion and dressing up. Haha! Hope you liked the photos and the looks that we came up with!

So who/what are you guys going to be for Halloween? :)

'Til the next post!
Scarlet April xx
