Chill Bill

Denims and loafers. These are the comfiest items that one could have in their closet. But in my case, I upped the style factor (and ouch factor too) just a tad by picking studded loafers instead of the normal/printed ones and by wearing a floral corset underneath my chambray/denim blouse. Comfort and a little edge are interesting together. Anyway, here's a preview of our newly renovated house in my province Buhi, CamSur. Went there last week for the opening and blessing of the house and the quaint coffee shop my mom put up there. I'm proud of my family for the great outcome. We didn't get any interior designers and architects but my uncle and mom did a very good job with the design/style/structure/light fixtures/furniture and all the interesting tiny details in the house. Now we can have a more comfortable stay there when we visit during the holidays. Most importantly, I'm sure our late grandparents would be proud of their son (my uncle) and daughter (my mom) for bringing life, light, and commerce into our ancestral home once again. No longer will it be shrouded in the dark and joked about for its haunted house qualities. :)

Denim & Khaki

Someone asked me what my style was and as always I was left pondering about it for a good 5 seconds or so before I could answer. I'd like to think that I am versatile and cannot be limited by a particular style. Although if I were to single out a style that I am particularly fond of that would be the preppy look. If you've been following my blog long enough you'd probably have seen me gravitate towards it and just nod in agreement. There's just something so sexy and alluring about looking sweet and innocent and not showing too much skin. I am also aware that my style isn't too trendy. I go for classic pieces and only choose trends that I fall in love with and don't jump into every fashion bandwagon there is. This look was a perfect example of that. Khaki and denim don't go out of style and have to be waited out to go back into mainstream. This chambray top has been used countless of times already and this skirt will surely make more appearances in this blog. The chain link necklace and plaid bag were versatile enough that even though they were new, they had that classic-vintage appeal to it. I guess the only trendy/current piece in this outfit were the shoes.

Triangles

Think this is as hipster as I can get. Hipster triangles, black-rimmed specs, muscle tank, ethnic prints and chambray. Not really my style as I'm not into trendy items that much but on this day I kinda just picked out these pieces randomly---the top and skirt both had brown in it and I thought they matched---without meaning to look too "teenager-y" or something, pardon my being inarticulate on this one. It was fun though. My little sister remarked that I looked like a free spirit and a fun-loving girl. 'Course that wasn't anywhere near the truth. Haha.
