It's Not Always About Fashion

I love books. I love reading. I love the alone time, the "me time" that I get from reading. It's that time where being alone isn't really dreadful.

Right now, I'm in my book-shopping obsession phase. When I'm in this phase, I could get by without shopping for fashion-related stuff. So now, I don't really think much about shoe-shopping or clothes-shopping, instead...all I think about at the moment is buying that book that's on my list.

That list is LOOOOONG.

Probably my fave Vampire Saga yet! This is not your run-of-the-mill vampire story. Think Gossipgirl (the setting's in Manhattan New york, fabulous fashion, bitchy cat-fights, voyeuristic feel of the narration), only this is about vampires. I think what makes this series more special to me is that the author is a Filipina. Melissa Dela Cruz makes me one proud Filipino by giving birth to this series. She writes sooo well I could cry. Haha! Her books have great plots, believable characters, and the twist and turns of her novels always catch me off guard! Definitely a must-read!
My second fave! Do not be fooled by the books' simple covers, Vampire Academy (in its entirety) has a real voice and spunk thanks to protagonist Rose. The take on this series is also different from that of Twilight and all those cheesy vamp stories out there. The VA is action-filled and exciting! The fast pacing of Richelle Mead's novels always put me at the edge of my seat!
Really want to buy the Vampire Diaries novels because I want to know if the book-version's much better than the TV series.

Enough vampire stories, let's move on to fairies (Wicked Lovely series), ghosts (Darkest Powers series), and fallen angels (Fallen series).Aside from YA (young adult) novels, I also like reading light stories and chick-lit. Sophia Kinsella's Shopaholic series and stand-alone novels like Remember Me, Twenties Girl, The Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep A Secret are the perfect reads when you want light and humorous stories! I've already completed the Shopaholic series so I'm moving on to buying her stand-alone novels! Yay!
The Hunger Games Trilogy and the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series are top priorities on my list! I am sooo excited to get my hands on a copy! I've read a lot of good reviews about these books, hope they won't disappoint! :)
Anddd...a few more stand-alone novels that I would love to read and add to my growing collection of books. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan (authors of Nick & Norah's Infinte Playlist!), My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares (author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), One Day by David Nicholls (this will be made into a movie starring Anne Hathaway!), and Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane (yes, it was turned into a movie as well starring Leonardo Di Caprio).
Waa! I really need more moolah! I hope my mom reads this. Haha!

Update For Update's Sake

Let's start with last Thursday...

That was the day I got my first real pay. Haha! It wasn't much and the job was absolutely tiring but the feeling it left us was priceless and very fulfilling. Nothing beats the feeling of a job well done. En an
d I were hired as photogs by a former HS classmate of mine at Diliman (Prep School) for their project in school. We arrived at their uni that day feeling nervous (I dunno about En, but that's what I felt) 'coz I don't really consider myself a professional when it comes to that (after all, I'm still learning) but the fact that Karen, our client, (naks!) trusted us was enough to make the jitters all go away.

Even though that day was very long and tiring, clicking away with our cameras and hearing the students ask us for advice in "posing" saying: "Ate patulong naman kung anong pose oh.", made me feel giddy inside. They made me feel like I was in control of the situation which in turn made me THINK that I was indeed in control of it. Haha! Though to be completely honest, when they asked for my help, I wanted to laugh and answer them: "ako pa tinanong nyo tungkol dyan eh I suck at modeling din!" Haha!

After 3 or 4 hours of shooting the girls and boys (uh...that sounded wrong haha) and calling it a day,
En and I felt our knees quiver and shake due to kneeling, standing up, crouching and basically just being all over the place! Haha! But y'know what, I didn't mind it. The experience was definitely something that I savored. It was fun while it lasted. Hey, it was a memorable first for me. Haha!

BTS photos from that day:

2 nights ago...

"She'd loved only two things. The first was her long dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off and feel nothing."
So two nights ago before I went to sleep, I pulled a Summer (of 500 Days of Summer) by chopping 5 inches off my long locks in a snap! Haha! I'm not sure what got into me that night and I did it. Now, I'm just waiting for regret to wash over me. The ends of my hair were just too dry and fried that I badly wanted to do something with it. I'm planning to have it fixed in the salon soon but right now I'm enjoying it being bluntly cut. Haha!

P.S. 'Tis my 1ooth post! Yey! :)

An update for update's sake. :)

XO.
